The Hon Kelly Vincent MLC announces Lance Jones as the Dignity Party Candidate for Mount Gambier
Kelly Vincent is excited to announce Lance Jones as the Dignity Party Candidate for Mount Gambier for the South Australian Election on March 17th. Lance launched his candidature at the Lakes Resort in Mount Gambier today.
Lance Jones is a lawyer, academic and successful local business operator, he established the Mt Gambier office of Comrec Australia, offering day options and respite for people with disabilities, in 1998. This business now employs 70 staff assisting 250 clients in 7 regional centres across SA. Lance counts the success of Comrec Australia as one of his proudest achievements.
“Lance is passionate about ensuring equity and justice for people with a disability and mental health issues. The people of Mount Gambier have a real choice with Lance Jones as their Dignity Party Candidate,” said Ms Vincent.
“If elected to represent the people of Mount Gambier, Lance Jones would bring a fresh approach coupled with local experience.”
“Listening to the feedback from the south-east community during regional visits last year, it troubles me that there is still unrest, uncertainty and at times unfairness surrounding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It is clear that where the NDIS is working for people, it’s working really well, where it’s not working, it’s rocky and very difficult to navigate.”
“Dignity Party offer a team that actually understands real South Australians. Lance Jones knows what it’s like to wait for access to services in the state’s regions, or to be let down by health, disability or aged care services when you live outside of metropolitan Adelaide. We know what a struggle it can be when you can’t pay your huge water or electricity bill,” Ms Vincent said.
Lance strives to support Kelly Vincent’s re-election and to continue the Dignity Party’s strong regional advocacy as the Mount Gambier Candidate. Lance is author of two biographies, produced and narrated a popular documentary “ANZAC for Schools”, and completed a Masters Degree in Human Rights & Advocacy.
Lance regularly participates in community theatre, and recognises the strong arts presence in Mount Gambier, and the opportunities for the city to be a star in its own right. He now practises and teaches law, and is the father of two adults who work in the disability sector.
