In another sign the parties are gearing up for the March election, the Dignity Party today held its campaign launch on the steps of Parliament.

MP Kelly Vincent is seeking re-election to the Upper House having served in Parliament since 2010.

Her ticket includes South Sudanese migrant Esther Simbi, who has post-polio syndrome after contracting the disease as a child, and speech pathologist Diana Bleby, who has been heavily involved with the NDIS.

“The Dignity Party have been championing all sorts of causes – not just for the physically disabled but for the people with disabilities [that are] invisible,” Ms Bleby said.

Ms Vincent has acknowledged it will be a tough fight competing for seats in the Upper House.
