WHAT: Save Balyana Pool Community Rally
WHO: Dignity for Disability MLC Kelly Vincent, Mitcham Mayor Michael Picton, Greens MLC Mark Parnell and Save Balyana Pool community group.
WHEN: Saturday, February 23, 10:45am – 11:30am.
WHERE: Outside Balyana Pool, 46 Strathcona Ave, Clapham.
WHY: The much loved Balyana Pool is set to close in April. The 1500 weekly community users of the pool will have nowhere to swim in the Mitcham Council area. Many children learn to swim at this pool, some use it as a physical rehabilitation facility and a number of people with intellectual disabilities also use the pool, providing them with positive community and social interaction. We are calling on the pool operators, Bedford Group, to keep the pool open for ongoing community use.
