A fresh start for SA with d4d – Rick Neagle in Dunstan
29/01/2014
Rick Neagle, 51, of Kensington Gardens, is the President of the Dignity for Disability political party.
Rick’s interest in furthering the rights of people with a disability comes from his experience as father and carer to Mitchell, his 13 year old son who has autism.
Rick is a powerful advocate for disability and has been unwavering in his support for a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Rick is dedicated to fixing the current broken system and seeing all people with a disability and their families and supporters being included in all aspects of our society.
A qualified sports physiotherapist, Rick understands the pressure on health professionals when resources that are necessary to support the lives of people with a disability are in short supply.
“It’s not good enough; we must strive now to see real change,” says Rick Neagle.
Rick played with the Norwood Redlegs and is a well-known and highly regarded member of the Dunstan community.
“I’m working towards a fairer deal for people with a disability, their families and supporters because it says a lot about a society, the way we treat people who are disadvantaged in any way. The cause of human rights is, unfortunately, closer to home than some people realise,” said Mr Neagle.
