AN inaugural SALA exhibition Together We Achieve celebrated artists living with disability.

The exhibition, hosted by Community Living Australia (CLA) – a not-forprofit organisation providing support to children and adults with disabilities – was described by chief executive Mark Kulinski as “a collaborative showcase”.

Showing at the Bridgewater Mill the exhibition was made up of over 40 pieces by more than 20 artists from across the State.

More than 80 guests attended the opening on Friday, August 4, by Kelly Vincent MLC.

CLA acting chairperson Jill Coombe said “the importance of community connections, recognition of talent, visibility and acknowledgement of one’s existence and the celebration of personal achievement and gratitude for the valued role one plays in their local community are all critical factors to a person’s wellbeing and quality of life”.

“This is why we decided to host the exhibition – to celebrate the artistic talents of people living with disability, to provide them with an opportunity to build community connections and to provide an opportunity to be valued and contributing citizens,” added Mark.
